True exploration isn’t born in the water; it begins long before the dive. ALL OUT is a cinematic study of Andrea Bada—a dedicated explorer and researcher of historical wrecks whose life is defined by the relentless pursuit of what lies beneath.
We followed Andrea’s journey through the stark contrasts of his world: from the sparks and grit of his family bodyshop in Turin to the silent, crushing depths of the Mediterranean. The film captures the raw intersection of manual labor, physical preparation, and elite technical diving. It is a story about the resilience required to “swim against the current” and the silent dedication found in the darkness of the deep.
Behind the Lens
The authenticity of ALL OUT is rooted in a deep, long-standing connection. The project was born from the friendship between Andrea Bada and Andrea Mescalchin, whose 30-year legacy in underwater cinematography served as the foundation for this production. This shared history allowed our crew to enter Bada’s world with unparalleled intimacy and technical understanding.
To translate this journey to the screen, Matteo Mescalchin utilized a curated lighting language designed to bridge three distinct realities: the high-contrast textures of the gym, the focused atmosphere of historical research, and the ethereal, technical world of deep-sea exploration. Filmed on location in Turin and at the Tech Dive facilities in Arenzano, the project highlights digitalmovie.it’s specialized expertise in extreme environmental storytelling—a “labor of love” where decades of experience meet the cutting edge of modern filmmaking.
